What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Safety and Sanitation Supervisor position at Zenith Logistics?
- Ensure compliance with established procedures and maintain effective internal control over the food safety program and adherence to the Master sanitation schedule.
- Attend and conduct daily sanitation meetings with hourly associates.
- Proactively Schedule detail work with operations and provide shift management with detailed lists of needs in order to follow Master Sanitation schedule.
- Provide a high visibility on shifts to ensure effective sanitation practices are being followed in all areas of the distribution center.
- File daily, weekly, and monthly food safety and sanitation inspections according to the master sanitation and food safety compliance regulations.
- Track, collect, and print Supervisor Bi-Weekly Sanitation inspections and report deficiencies to shift management.
- Conduct and Track training of all management and hourly associates.
- Track daily inspection sheets and porter observations and report deficiencies to shift management.
- Perform walk behind porter audits. Assist in issuing appropriate discipline.
- Inspect required record keeping for compliance.
- Be familiar with and maintain Zero Waste and Food donation programs.
- Monitor required documentation for Food Safety and Compliance daily.
- Maintain pest control program and pro-actively handle any issues.
- Ensure compliance to all industry standards of FDA, USDA, FSMA and Department of Agriculture.
- Evaluate facility sanitary conditions daily, assess risk base on food safety and public health principles, prioritize corrective actions and verify sanitation activities and validate result. Complete appropriate documentation.
- Develop and implement cleaning methods & procedures to reduce operating problems & improve cleaning effectiveness.
- Plan & direct sanitation activities & establish sanitation priorities for maintaining clean DC with effective operations & cost factors.
- Work with Management for distribution and staffing of porters. Know all porters break and lunch times and monitor porters continually for work quality and compliance.
- Actively assess progress and quality of work of porters, train, coach and issue discipline as necessary.
- Train Utility personnel taking porter jobs on what expectations exist for porter positions.
- Develop and maintain a schedule of project cleaning, checking projects to make sure quality of work exists.
- Follow up on any reports of insects, rodents or birds in the warehouse.
- Manage porter cards daily and hot spot emails daily – follow up.
- Back up and fill in for site safety.
- Complete and maintain site certification for SQF, HACCP, and other food safety certifications.
