Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary:
Supervise the activities of associates in an integrated, 24x7, grocery warehouse operation. Responsible for providing direction in the execution of all logistics, inventory control, safety and sanitation and labor relations goals.
This position will require selected candidate to work week-ends and various holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, sanitation and inventory control specifications.
- Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations, solve issues and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
- Makes recommendations to Management on programs and procedures to improve warehouse operations.
- Ensures efficient utilization of equipment.
- Conducts daily pre-shift meetings regarding topics such as daily operational goals, safety and company announcements.
- Tracks and manages employee time, discipline and absenteeism through Kronos timekeeping system.
- Through coordination with Operations Management, provides coaching and training of employees to meet operational goals.
- Ensures current and accurate inventory count and location for each account.
- Manages daily compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
- Ensure safety and sanitation programs to achieve compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
Job Specifications:
- High School Diploma required; College degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years distribution supervision (large retail or grocery) experience preferred.
- Prior experience with labor relations/ unionized environments preferred.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast paced, high volume environment.
- Prior experience with labor relations/unionized environment preferred. Ability to effectively delegate and demonstrate with strong conflict resolution capability.
- Ability to lift at 25 pounds infrequently, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems software applications,. Prior experience with Kronos or UKG systems preferred.
