Job Summary
The Director of Care is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the quality of care provided to residents in our assisted living facility. This position requires a compassionate and experienced professional who can manage care plans, ensure compliance with resident rights, and maintain high standards of care. The Director will collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional service while fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet their unique needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding resident rights and care standards.
- Manage the assessment process, including MDS (Minimum Data Set) evaluations, to maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide acute care and home health services as needed.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on medical terminology and best practices in assisted living.
- Monitor the quality of care provided, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages open communication among residents, families, and staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure our facility remains compliant and competitive.
Experience
- Proven experience in an assisted living or healthcare setting is required.
- Strong knowledge of care plans, resident rights, MDS assessments, and medical records management.
- Previous experience as a nurse or in a similar leadership role is preferred.
- Familiarity with acute care practices and home health services is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.
