Job Summary
This position is a detail-oriented Test Technician who will conduct packaged engine and component testing, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive diagnostics, electrical and mechanical systems, and data acquisition with oscilloscopes and other common test equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate any in-house testing needs for pre-application testing with production, sales and engineering
- Setup and perform routine in-house testing
- Set up, calibrate, and operate testing equipment, including dynamometers and data acquisition systems.
- Assist with data entry for E-Controls, Hyundai, and Scania application reviews.
- Assist production and engineering with prototype/first article inspection and prototype builds.
- Create detailed Test Reports and maintain Test schedule and Report filing systems
- Maintain and replace equipment within the department as required.
- Provide assistance to the Calibration Engineer for testing of customers’ application testing either at their facilities or in-house.
- Collect data from the field on Zenith engines as well as proprietary designed components
- Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have mechanical/testing skills proven by verifiable and specific work experience
- A working knowledge of engine technology and industrial equipment
- Must have current computer skills relevant to the field of competence
- Must have ability to work within schedule and budget restraints
- Must have ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience Required
- A 2 year Degree in a mechanical discipline preferred
- 1-2 years of experience of increasing responsibility is desirable
- Candidates should be proficient in using SolidWorks to review and interrogate design features.
