Full-Time SAT / ACT Tutor

Zenith Tutoring is a growing education company that utilizes a combination of data-driven online coursework and live in-person or virtual tutoring to achieve the best results in the industry.

We specialize in ACT and SAT tutoring, as well as ISEE, SSAT, and general academic tutoring for high school students. We have one primary office in Palo Alto, along with popup classrooms in high schools across the country.

In the last 14 years that we have been open, we have been responsible for over 1% of global perfect scores on the SAT, and almost 2% of perfect scores on the ACT. This might sound like a small number, but those in the industry know how incredibly difficult it is to coach a student toward achieving perfect scores! Part of our mission is to increase access to high quality coaching, regardless of a family's income level or location. We work with a diverse group of schools and students, participate in community outreach, and provide scholarships to ensure a level playing field.

As an educator, you will be facilitating our semi-private SSAT / ISEE and SAT / ACT test preparation classes for high school students. In these classes, our students work through a curriculum that is specifically built around their particular needs and weaknesses. During each semi-private class of 1-7 students, you will provide active attention to facilitate subject mastery and keep students on track.

You will also be providing one-on-one private tutoring sessions in-person or via Zoom. Private tutoring is offered in test prep and also in various elementary, middle, and high school subjects, depending on your specialties.

Additional responsibilities will include:

-Providing excellent client services to anybody who enters our office
-Directing students to their appropriate tutor/class/test
-Tracking student progress, writing lesson notes and reports, and responding to email inquiries
-Documenting all client communications in our internal database
-On-boarding new students and getting them scheduled
-Occasional printing, scanning, and digital filing
-Tidying and organizing your workspace after classes
-Assisting with the creation of educational materials and documents

Compensation and benefits:

Compensation is dependent upon experience. We are known to be one of the highest paying tutoring companies in the Bay Area. Additionally, we provide health benefits and generous PTO to our full-time staff. We have regular opportunities for growth and advancement into lead and managerial positions. We currently have openings for both part-time and full-time educators. Due to the nature of tutoring, we require tutors to work evenings and weekends, particularly during the school year. However, there is flexibility as to what days/times you tutor so that you can build a schedule that works for you.

A successful candidate will have:

- 2 years tutoring experience in SAT and ACT prep with a proven dedication to seeing your students succeed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical proficiency and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Strong relationship and team-building skills
- The ability to remain proactive and productive with minimal supervision
- A B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited university

A outstanding candidate will also have:

- A strong track record of helping students achieve perfect scores on the ACT or SAT
- Private tutoring specialization(s) such as math, physics, chemistry, or Spanish
- A demonstrated interest in one of the following areas: office administration, marketing, sales, and partnership development
