Duties and Responsibilities :
Full time, dynamic supervisor is needed to join our team. Qualified candidates should have warehouse experience, excellent people skills, as well as business management and leadership experience. Supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred but not required.
1st shift 5 : 30am - 2 : 30pm, must be able to work weekends, 2 days off will be during the week. Saturday and Sunday are always worked.
Located on the East side of Indianapolis, near Shadeland and English Ave.
Essential Functions :
- Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, inventory control and customer satisfaction guidelines.
- Develops and implements work schedules and assignments to meet customer demands.
- Tours the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems, and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
- Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager on programs and procedures to improve warehouse operations.
- Ensures efficient utilization of equipment.
- Schedules and conducts safety meetings.
- Through coordination with Operations Manager, establishes employee goals, provides coaching and training, conducts performance reviews and performs disciplinary action.
- Enforces and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
- Establishes and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
- Assists in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents and surroundings.
- Ensure there is training program in place and documented for all job functions.
Job Specifications :
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
3. Demonstrated skills in leadership, supervision, organization and planning.
4. Understanding of warehouse operations and warehouse management system technology.
5. Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications, and accurate typing skills (25 wpm minimum).
6. Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
8. Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
