Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing complex cases. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in litigation procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Organize files, track deadlines, and maintain calendars for state/federal courts in DE.
- Document Preparation: Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas. E-file documents in compliance with court rules.
- Discovery Process: Manage document production, review records, and prepare summaries/deposition materials.
- Legal Research: Conduct research via Westlaw/LexisNexis; analyze laws, regulations, and precedents.
- Trial Preparation: Assist with exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and trial logistics.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a liaison, providing timely case updates and maintaining confidentiality.
- Administrative Support: Schedule meetings, manage billing, and ensure file organization.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years in defense litigation (insurance defense, medical malpractice, or product liability preferred).
Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office, Clio, Relativity, and e-filing systems.
- Knowledge of DE court procedures and civil litigation.
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and time management.
- Other: Ability to work under deadlines, handle sensitive information, and occasionally travel for trials/depositions.
