We are seeking a dynamic General Practice Associate to join our team in Southwest Michigan. This role offers the opportunity to perform diverse transactional duties, including advising and drafting legal documents across corporate, real estate, estate, and succession planning matters. You will collaborate closely with partner-level attorneys, support other offices in Michigan and Washington, D.C., and contribute to our fast-paced, high-energy team. Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate and Real Estate Law: Provide support in mergers and acquisitions, contracts, disputes, and other corporate matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret agreements for commercial real estate transactions, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, and financing documents.
- Legal Research and Drafting: Conduct research, draft memos, pleadings, motions, and briefs for attorney review.
- Document Management: Organize, review, and maintain case documents, supervise or coordinate coding, and support database development for litigation and case management.
- Estate Planning: Meet with clients to draft Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and business planning documents.
- Provide counsel on estate, gift, GST tax, and income tax matters for mid-to-high-net-worth individuals and families.
- Estate Administration: Handle estate administration, including preparing and filing probate documents, attending hearings, and preparing estate, fiduciary income, and gift tax returns.
- Support other attorneys in these and related tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Legal Expertise: Knowledge of estate planning, estate and gift tax, business succession planning, corporate law, and real estate law.
- Client Engagement: Maturity and confidence to build trust with clients and collaborate effectively with their advisors.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable solutions.
- Academic and Professional Excellence: Proven intellect and grasp of complex legal issues, evidenced by strong academic performance and/or work experience.
- Work Ethic: A strong commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with online legal research tools and resources.

Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan or eligible to obtain admission upon employment commencement.
