In this role, you will be responsible for operating machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment to produce high-quality products. Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment to produce products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor the production process to ensure that materials, machinery, and procedures meet safety and quality requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Set up and calibrate machines and equipment, adjusting settings as needed to maintain optimal production flow.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and any defects or maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing proper protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality control teams.
- Participate in training sessions to learn about new machines, processes, and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements, including environmental and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing is a plus.
- Previous experience as a manufacturing operator, machine operator, or similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and production workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and machine operation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime, as needed.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with specific machinery or equipment (e.g., CNC machines, injection molding, or assembly lines).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Certification in machine operation, safety, or quality control.
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, food production, electronics).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, twist, and perform repetitive tasks as required by the production line.
- Manual dexterity to operate machinery and tools.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
