Position Overview : One of our Department of State customers is seeking a Senior ArcGIS Architect (Back-End) to join a team focused on delivering advanced geospatial technology solutions. The team develops systems to enable efficient data management, GIS mapping, and spatial analytics.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and leading the implementation of ArcGIS as an enterprise GIS tool. In this role, you will collaborate with a highly skilled team of professionals to architect and deliver systems that convert complex data into actionable insights, empowering strategic decision-making for stakeholders. This role transcends platform development, focusing on shaping a sophisticated, data-driven ecosystem that drives operational excellence.
Clearance Requirement : Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance and maintain it throughout employment.
Work Location : Springfield / Newington, VA facility, with occasional visits to the Washington, DC office.
Relocation assistance may be available to support qualified candidates in their transition to this role.
Work Schedule (Onsite) : Five (5) days a week onsite at the customer’s facility
Requirements :
- Implement automation tools and workflows using Python to streamline operations or provide Portal Metrics
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Esri and industry best practices for enterprise geodatabase management and GIS workflow design for SQL integration
- Ability to perform installs and configuration during version upgrades (e.g., ArcGIS 10.x to 11.x)
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise GIS solutions
- Oversee data ingestion, management, and transformation processes from various sources (e.g., databases, API’s, cloud platforms) while ensuring data quality and compliance
- Optimize GIS mapping, spatial analytics, and visualization capabilities to meet the diverse needs of internal and external stakeholders
- Integrate ArcGIS with data analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Azure Synapse)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct needs assessments, deliver tailored solutions, and provide user training
- Ensure systems align with security and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA)
