Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Athletic Performance Coach to join our team as a part-time coach. You will be responsible for designing and implementing speed, agility, and strength training programs for athletes aged 8-18. Your expertise and guidance will play a crucial role in helping young athletes develop their physical capabilities and achieve their performance goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute structured and progressive training programs for youth athletes focused on speed, agility, power, and strength.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate athletes' baseline performance and track progress over time.
- Provide instruction and guidance on proper exercise techniques, ensuring safety and injury prevention.
- Motivate and inspire athletes to push their limits, cultivate a positive training environment, and encourage teamwork.
- Adapt training programs to accommodate athletes' varying needs and skill levels, ensuring inclusivity and individualized attention.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to optimize results.
- Communicate regularly with athletes and their parents/guardians to provide progress updates, discuss challenges, and offer recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current with the latest research and trends in youth athletic performance training and incorporate best practices into coaching strategies.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to facilitate athlete development and coordinate training schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized training environment, ensuring that equipment is appropriately maintained and functional.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a coach or trainer, preferably working with youth athletes in speed, agility, and strength training.
- Strong knowledge of age-appropriate training techniques, principles, and programming for athletes aged 8-18.
- Excellent understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics related to athletic performance.
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with athletes and their parents/guardians.
- Certification in relevant training programs (e.g., NASM-PES, or equivalent) is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Passion for youth athletic development and the ability to instill discipline, teamwork, and a positive work ethic in young athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability to work flexible evening hours,, to accommodate training schedules.
- Ability to create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes all athletes' learning, growth, and enjoyment.
