Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, with specific experience in insurance defense. This role involves handling a caseload of litigated matters, including conducting depositions, preparing legal pleadings, attending court hearings, and managing cases from inception through resolution or trial.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all phases of insurance defense litigation, including general liability, premises liability, automobile liability, and personal injury cases.
- Manage a full caseload independently, while working collaboratively with other attorneys and legal staff.
- Draft and respond to discovery, motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.
- Provide legal analysis and strategic recommendations to clients and insurance carriers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case files and billing records.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license in good standing to practice law in [State].
- 2–7 years of experience in insurance defense litigation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, rules of evidence, and local court practices.
- Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
