Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring seamless transactions between PeopleSoft (ERP) and K1 (WMS). This role requires a deep understanding of warehouse operations, reconciliation processes, and system interactions to support Distribution Center (DC) Operations. The specialist will investigate discrepancies, conduct daily reconciliations, and ensure transactional accuracy.
This position requires the operation of powered industrial equipment (PIE), including Raymond Reach Trucks, Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJ), and Forklifts. Training and certification will be provided onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management & Reconciliation
- Perform daily cycle counts, ensuring all cycles are completed by the end of the business day.
- Assess and report warehouse transactions/findings within 24 hours to the Operations Manager and ICC Manager.
- Run and review inventory adjustment reports daily.
- Verify empty bins, covering at least three aisles per day and the entire warehouse monthly.
- Transaction Accuracy & Discrepancy Resolution
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve transaction discrepancies reported by DC Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable.
- Process manufacturing returns of components and chemicals.
- Perform put-away verifications to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Audit inbound paperwork, verifying data accuracy within the K1 WMS.
- Technical Proficiency & Problem-Solving
- Utilize MS Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) for reporting and analysis.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve problems efficiently, developing alternative solutions when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or distribution centers preferred.
- Strong understanding of ERP (PeopleSoft) and WMS (K1) systems.
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks (training provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
