General Summary:
The Maintenance Technician I position is responsible for performing a variety of basic preventative and emergency maintenance projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities. The individual will be responsible for various aspects of the maintenance and physical condition of the building and grounds of all Zepf properties. This position is not limited to only maintenance responsibilities. By the very nature of maintenance, this individual must be flexible; independent worker with initiative and highly responsive in addressing any maintenance projects that is brought to the attention of the Department Director or is discovered by any other employee. On-call responsiveness may be required in case of emergencies including snow removal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities includes picking up all trash on the grounds and parking lots, cleaning any spills or broken glass, weed removal, trimming bushes and trees, washing windows, leaf collection, selected grass mowing, and all other related duties as directed, as needed.
- Will maintain landscaping at various buildings
- Responsible for moving and setting up furniture within offices, conference/ group rooms and other work areas
- Responsible for removing and disposing old/unused furniture, equipment and program supplies while also documenting items removed
- Will assist in ensuring the fleet vehicles follows maintenance schedule while also assuring cars are cleaned out on a regular
- Assist in maintaining the facilities which may include vacuuming, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, and assistant in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility and grounds.
- All procedures regarding safety, proper use of equipment and all cleaning materials must be followed.
- Assist in the coordination of inspections and certification of equipment.
- Assist in the documentation and implementation of regularly scheduled fire, tornado and other emergency drills.
- Assist with upkeep, inventory, security and maintaining all facility equipment and tools. The Individual is responsible for ensuring the workshop is kept neat and always organized.
- May perform basic carpentry work including dry wall repair, painting, installing flooring and other basic construction task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient’s identity.
- Complete regular checks of fire suppression equipment and supplies
- Professional; respectful and timely communication among all department employees and manager
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings and complete all mandatory staff training requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:
- - Does not require high school diploma, must display basic skills to complete job requirements.
- - Must demonstrate basic maintenance skills
- - Must have the ability to lift 50 plus pounds
- - Must have the ability to bend, flex, and squat in performing various maintenance tasks.
- - Minimum of 6 months of building maintenance and/or related experience required.
- - Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the required OSHA safety training and procedures.
- - Valid driver’s license and insurance required
Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier. Those who drive personal vehicles during business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
