Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
We are currently seeking a Counselor for our Opiate Treatment Program; utilizing best practice in providing Medication Assisted Treatment for substance abuse disorders. This individual is responsible for day-to-day treatment and programming for patients participating in the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).
General Summary: Flexible part-time (32 hours a week)
This individual is responsible for providing individual psychotherapy to clients in the OTP (Opioid Treatment Program). Key duties include client assessment, intake, linkage, individual and group counseling, and delivering educational presentations. The role requires a high level of professionalism and flexibility to effectively manage responsibilities. As the Clinical Team Lead, this position also involves administrative and additional clinical duties, as outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments or updates to a diagnostic assessment as clinically necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, American Society of Addiction Medicines Level of Care (ASAM LOC) to evaluate clients' substance use disorders, mental health needs, and related issues.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans that address identified needs and goals.
2. Individual and Group Therapy:
- Provide evidence-based individual therapy sessions to clients, utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy from a trauma informed lens.
- Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on relapse prevention, coping skills development, and recovery support.
3. Crisis Intervention and Support:
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to clients experiencing acute distress or setbacks in their recovery process.
- Create self-care plans per the Sanctuary model as well as safety-plans to support in times of crisis.
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping strategies to manage stress and cravings.
4. Psychoeducation and Family Support:
- Provide clients and their families with psychoeducation on addiction, recovery, and mental health.
- Collaborate with family members and natural supports to support the client's treatment and recovery journey.
5. Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Regularly assess and document client progress, adjusting treatment interventions as necessary.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including nurses, physicians, social workers, certified peers, and other staff members.
- Attend treatment team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment planning.
7. Continued Learning and Professional Development:
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in addiction treatment, therapeutic techniques, and best practices, including State and Federal regulations governing OTPs and with a special focus on harm reduction.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities and training.
Team Lead Responsibilities
- Clinical Supervision
- May act as a clinical supervisor for dependently licensed staff and student interns who practice within the program. - May provide supervision group for applicable licensees to work towards independent licensure.
- Administrative Oversight
- Train new staff and student interns in the program.
- Monitors accurate and timely submission of documentation of assigned staff.
- Works with department supervisor to Montor program Key Performance Indicators, identifies trends and assists in problem solving for quality improvement.
- Programmatic Development
- Participates in providing training and consultation to team staff and other departments regarding clinical topics such as: Diagnostic Assessment updates, ASAM LOC placement to ensure clients receive the clinically appropriate services to meet their needs, effective treatment planning approaches, clinical development of less experienced clinicians.
Requirements
Position Qualifications:
- A Bachelor ’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field and one year as a Counselor or equivalent paid social service experience
- Prefer Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work and/ or Rehabilitation Counseling
- Maintenance of active status of a LCDC III, LSW, LPC, LPCC or LISW, including annual educational requirements.
- Knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and recovery including knowledge of family disease and recovery support groups.
- Computer proficiency and literacy.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and to maintain discretion and sound judgment always.
- Ability to write clear, concise, accurate notes, and compliance with all confidentiality laws and standards.
- Ability to work effectively with a interdisciplinary team approach to treatment.
