Job Summary :
Zero Waste Recycling LLC is currently hiring Class-A CDL drivers for the Environmental Team. This position will focus on operating vacuum equipment such as Vac Trucks, Air Movers, and Vacuum Tankers.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires manual dexterity and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The primary responsibility for this role is to service a client base of large industrial manufacturers to remove and transport their liquid and semi-liquid manufacturing wastes and byproducts.Candidates that excel in this position are those that demonstrate great communication skills, problem solving skills and work well with others. This position requires frequent interaction with our customers, our field services crew and our internal operations personnel. Additionally, we are seeking candidates that have an interest in cross-training to learn multiple pieces of equipment including; dry vans, flatbed, walking floor, end dump and roll-off trucks and trailers.We operate primarily as a local fleet and our drivers are home almost every night.
This position includes work that does require occasional overnight work on jobs that are completed out of town and out of state.
Accommodation and per-diems are provided for all work that requires an overnight stay. The typical hourly workload for drivers falls between 45-60 hours per week and may include weekend work on either Saturdays or Sundays based on our clients needs.
Requirements :
Class A CDL-Tanker and HAZ Endorsements-Minimum 2 years Class-A CDL driving experience-Ability to frequently lift, push and pull weights up to 50lbs.-Ability to occasionally lift, push and pull weight exceeding 50lbs.-Ability to stand for extended periods of time-Ability to safely maneuver on-to and off-of various truck and trailer types (van trailer, flatbed, walking floor, tanker trailers, vacuum trucks, etc.)-Physical dexterity to grasp, tighten and loosen various handles, hoses, valves, chains, straps etc.-Ability to learn and operate daily electronic GPS and DVIR software through smartphone or tablet.-Ability to read and understand both written and verbal communication and write and record accurate notes, weights, volumes, mileage, times, quantity, and container types on dispatches, BOL’s and manifests.
Desired Skills :
Previous experience within the waste or recycling industries.-Previous experience operating any vacuum or hydraulic equipment, attachments, or machinery.-Previous experience setting up hoses and hoses and valves.-Basic mechanical knowledge.-Experience in a customer facing role or team-oriented work environment.-Basic math and critical thinking skills.-Adaptability and comfort working within a continually evolving environment.
Other Duties
