What Will You Do?

This position encompasses mechanical and electrical design elements to be developed on Solidworks, Visio, Draftsite (AutoCAD) software packages and involves a degree of ERP involvement to connect these design elements to the ZZ business system (known as IFS). Designer requirements for this position should:

• Have shared project responsibility and collaborate with all “Specials Team” engineering and other groups as business dictates. 

• Participate in most phases of electrical and mechanical system design and development.

• Create the following (as prescribed by an engineer):

  •  Piping routing and sizing calculations and drawings

  •  Mechanical designs and drawings

  • New wiring schematics and wiring routing drawings 

  • IFS structures (Bills of Materials).

•  Develop an understanding of electrical, piping and control topologies for commercial refrigeration equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and document Case Division functional drawings for internal and external customers

• Create/ maintain internal assembly documents/ drawings describing Design Engineering intent.

• Create/ maintain accurate BOMs for ZZ’s ERP system.

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements for Effective Performance:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering technical field a plus.

• 3 - 10 years of relevant experience

• Exhibit a command of spoken and written English (bi-lingual a plus).

• Possess a strong and demonstrated understanding of Solidworks, including “sheet metal” package.

• Have a working familiarity with SW PDM systems.

• Possess a working familiarity with MS Office and Windows 10 (or newer).

Skills/Abilities/Specifications:

• Possess a working familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Draftsite.

• Possess a solid understanding of design fundamentals, GD&T.

• Acquire a basic understanding of electrical schematics and/or ladder diagrams

• Safety toe shoes and safety glasses are required while in production and lab areas.

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the office and production areas; have use of hands and fingers to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
