What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Mechanical Insulation Technician determines the required thickness and diameter of the neoprene insulation per project documentation. Configures, measures and cuts insulation to various lengths while utilizing various adhesive materials / methods.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Utilizes insulation tools, such as tape measures and insulation cutting tools
- Works with neoprene insulation and adhesives
- Responsible for maintaining neoprene insulation stock levels
- Ensure all cleanup, maintenance, housekeeping, and safety procedures are followed
- Responsible for the proper use of tools and equipment in assigned areas
- Ensure products are built according to Zero Zone standards and requirements
- Assist in training additional team members
- Maintains and promotes good work relationships with co-workers. Encourages teamwork for maximum productivity and quality
- Review production completion schedules to prioritize projects
- Work in unison with other departments to meet organizational goals
- Must be able to adapt to changes and provide support for improvement initiatives in production operations
- Maintains a positive work environment to consistently achieve its goals and reinforces the team approach with employees
- Interacts professionally with all departments, vendors and customers for the betterment of Zero Zone
- Other duties may be assigned
What Are We Looking For?
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you for this position:
- This position requires a High School degree or GED; six months to one-year manufacturing experience desired but not required
- Comprehend simple instructions, both oral and written, pertaining to all documentation
- Ability to effectively communicate one on one and in group settings with other employees within the organization
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Flexibility in work responsibilities as role develops over time
