Amick Brown is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician for our direct client.
Location : Sunnyvale, CA
Duration : 12 months
Estimated pay range : $28-$35 / hr per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location.
Job Description
The Laboratory Technician works in the Applied Microbiology Laboratory at the Sunnyvale, CA facility.
The role supports the operation of the Controlled Environment Rooms (CERs) by executing the environmental monitoring testing program per written instructions and reports to the laboratory team lead.
Additionally, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks required to maintain the Applied Microbiology Laboratory.
Essential Job Duties
Perform daily operations of the Applied Microbiology Laboratory, such as temperature monitoring of incubators and refrigerators, ordering and restocking supplies, and general housekeeping duties.
Perform particulate tests and collect microbial samples within the CERs as required per environmental monitoring test procedures.
Read and document test sample results.
Assist with preparing test reports for review by the team lead.
Plots environmental monitoring data into trend charts as required.
Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
0-2 years of experience working in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
Some experience with common laboratory techniques and equipment.
Ability to multi-task and change priorities based on project criticality.
Familiar with common EH&S practices and procedures.
Comfortable working in laboratories and controlled (cleanroom) environments.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Power Point, etc.).
Preferred Skills and Experience
1-2 years of experience working as a quality technician or similar role in a medical device or pharmaceutical company.
Knowledge of cGMP, GLP and regulatory compliance standards.
Required Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in physical or life sciences OR current enrollment in a related degree program preferred.
High school diploma with 1-2 years of related experience will also be considered.
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work may require standing or walking for extended periods in cleanroom environments.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required per cleanroom and laboratory protocols.
