Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Specialist at Zest Interior Design located in Salt Lake City, UT. The Sales Specialist will be responsible for communication with clients, providing exceptional customer service, conducting sales, preparing client proposals, signing projects, and assisting in client onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
- Prepare quarterly sales forecasts.
- Identify potential clients and generate new business leads through networking, partnerships, and market research.
- Prospect and cold-call potential new customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales, marketing, design, and procurement.
- Track all sales leads in CRM program.
- Schedule and conduct initial design consultations with clients and owners.
- Collaborate with design teams to understand project scopes and create tailored project proposals.
- Present sales pitches, proposals, and the firm's capabilities to prospective clients.
- Lead contract negotiations and secure agreements that are favorable to both the client and the firm.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to refine the sales approach.
- Convert potential projects to active projects upon signing of agreement and receipt of deposit.
- Participate in client onboarding procedures and conduct internal hand off meeting to design team.
- Monitor sales performance and provide reports to ownership.
- Assist in the coordination of client gifts and other items for continued relationship with client.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
- Participate in client meeting as requested by lead designers.
- Participate in project installs as needed.
- Assist with marketing needs as needed.
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the design or creative service industries.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and managing client relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Great communication and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the Zest team.
- Strong organizational skills - including efficiency, attention to detail, and ability to multitask as needed.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently as needed.
- Discretion with confidential client and business information.
- Contribute to the firm in a manner that continues to elevate our relationships, work, and style.
- Have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humor.
- Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively with everyone from department directors down to interns across the firm.
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Must love dogs and be comfortable working in a dog-friendly office.
Other Desired Experience or Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field.
- Experience with the interior design or hospitality experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite is a plus.
