ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Technical Support Engineer - Shipping and Staging ensures the successful field installation of communications equipment for critical public safety centers. This role involves configuring project requirements in the information system, setting up and preparing hardware to be as ready‐to‐go as possible, and ensuring everything is loaded and organized for the field installation team to implement seamlessly.
What makes a successful Technical Support Engineer - Shipping and Staging?
- Hardware Intake & Staging : Receive, check in, and unbox hardware deliveries from distributors, ensuring all items are present and in working condition
- Prepare hardware and stage components for deployment, ensuring success for the engineering team.
- Provide break / fix support for electronic devices, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime and maintain equipment functionality.
- Provide telephone technical support to customers for Zetron's baseline products; provide troubleshooting for routine installation, configuration and repair issues for Zetron’ s system deployments.
- Write installation and application notes that provide internal guidelines for performing upgrades, maintenance, and product integration in the staging and shipping department.
- Assess and respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in fault isolation with equipment; collaborate with other teams as needed to devise solutions.
- Maintain daily log of all calls and work performed on company database.
- Required to perform the job functions in a safe manner.
- Occasional travel to customer sites in support of onsite installation assistance and project services may be required.
- Oversee e-waste management and ensure the proper disposal of electronic equipment, supporting sustainably lifecycle management practices.
- Ensure the safety of the products and the valuable material in the facility during the whole handling process.
- Ensuring the facility is maintained in an organized and clean condition
- May provide training to support engineers on, including but not limited to, baseline products and procedures.
- May assist with the development of training material content.
- May participate in identification and isolation of software defects during setup, creating detailed tickets for engineers or developers to address escaped code issues and ensure prompt resolution.
- Assist with facilities maintenance activities
- Other duties as assigned by the Company.
AS A KEY MEMBER OF THE TEAM ,YOU MUST BE ABLE TO :
