Centrally located in the Midwest, we continue to support domestic and global battery sales for both rechargeable and non-rechargeable chemistries. What You’ll Do

As our Senior Buyer, you are responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with best-in-class suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, executing purchase orders, and collaborating with Engineering and QC for new product development. In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Manage and drive the material sourcing, production, and quality control procedures for product development activities
  • Own vendor communication, sample development and pre-production deliverables for respective product categories.
  • Continuously manage risk through communication to our sales department on sample and production build timelines.
  • Purchase MRO, Custom and Standard electronic components, and services required for manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to avoid stockouts.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, delivery and supplier information
  • Works and consults with engineering to identify electrical and mechanical component requirements.
  • Communicates with and coordinates the activities of suppliers and internal resources to resolve supplier related issues that impact both Operations and Engineering
  • Contact suppliers, obtain quotes, negotiate pricing and place purchase orders based on demand.
  • Expedites delivery of goods on routine shortages
  • Minimize the risk of exposure to excess and obsolete inventory
  • Presents weekly / monthly material reports in the Project Meetings, Materials Meetings and QBR operations management meetings 
  • Lead the supplier selection, risk assessment and contract negotiation process for key projects.
  • Provide regular progress updates to Senior Leadership and to key internal partners.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Travel domestically and internationally to conduct cost negotiations and ISO 9001 Quality Audits
  • Perform any other reasonable duties for this role as requested by management.
  • Develops and executes category strategies in line with driving best value (cost, quality, and service) across our supply chain.


Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other quantitative discipline preferred.
  • ISO9001-2015 Certified Auditor
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the commodity management, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain disciplines, with a specific focus in Electronics, parts and components.
  • Detail oriented
  • Analytical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Results driven
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • English speaker, second language desirable (Mandarin Chinese)
  • Ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate across the network and build credibility – Supply Chain, Logistic, Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing
