Job Summary
This position supports the efforts / initiative of driving and implementing SCADA control system architecture (using Ignition) with an AI platform in our manufacturing sites on custom-built equipment and / or processing lines.
Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports data retrieval, data storage, and data processing
Ensure that the development of high-level data applications and the deployment of machine learning models is carried out in a seamless, secure, and effective way.
Act as a technical liaison with both the IT, Engineering, and Manufacturing Groups for facilitating communication and coordinating activities for Ignition and AI implementation throughout the Zeus Network
Implements new Ignition features and changes while monitoring security, reliability, and performance.
Performs complex and precise troubleshooting to pinpoint root causes for issues identified by the manufacturing and support teams.
Completes Ignition development projects and processes.
Works with end users to identify areas of improvement for the Ignition applications.
Participates in blueprinting, requirements gathering, and other planning functions for new projects.
Performs code review to verify changes made by other developers.
Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establishes open communication with supervisor and manager.
Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
Potential travel to various sites to aid in installing and supporting various automation equipment
Qualifications
Minimum 4-year BS degree in an engineering field preferably with a minor in Computer Science from an ABET-accredited program
2-8 years' experience in a manufacturing environment working with integrated software platforms / SCADA systems such as Ignition and networking
Bachelor of Science degree with Computer Science, Information Technology or related combination of experience and education required.
3 Years of Ignition scripting using Jython (preferred) or Python / Java experience
3 Years of experience using SQL and data modeling to support software solutions.
Proven ability to solve complex business problems via scalable software solutions.
Certified with Ignition 7.0 or greater.
Comfortable using agile development methodologies.
Strong understanding of software development principles, best practices, and relevant technologies.
Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs for control and reporting.
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
Technical aptitude and analytical propensity.
Proven ability to manage projects to completion.
Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.
Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures and completing on-the-job training.
Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR / 98-282, 93 / 42 / EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred
Knowledge of process control systems, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, (Rockwell Automation) HMIs, electrical drives, temperature, flow, and pressure controls is plus
