Role Overview
The Installation technician will install, service, and troubleshoot electronic security systems for residential, commercial, and enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain low voltage communication systems.
- Work with systems including intrusion, access control, CCTV, fire alarms, intercoms, and integrated solutions.
- Perform cable installation, raceway setup, and electrical device terminations in new and existing buildings across various sectors (residential, commercial, healthcare, education, industrial).
- Provide end-user training and participate in on-call emergency service rotation.
- Ensure quality standards and document all work and corrective actions clearly.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years experience in system installation and configuration.
- Hands-on experience with a range of PASS Security products, including:
- Access Control: Software House, RS2, Alarm.com, Salto, Avigilon, AMAG
- CCTV: March Networks, Avigilon, OpenEye, AXIS
- Intrusion: DMP, DSC, Qolsys, Alarm.com, Arteco
- Fire Alarm: Potter, Bongo, Napco
- Intercom: Aiphone, Zenitel/Stentofon
- Misc: Inovonics, Evolv/Avigilon Weapons Detection
- Basic networking knowledge and strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, relay logic, and supervised circuits.
- NICET I & II certification (or within 12 months of hire).
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Technically curious with a strong work ethic and career focus.
- 2 years structured cabling experience following BICSI and NEC standards.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and project documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, use ladders, hand tools, and operate work vehicles (trucks/vans/trailers).
