Role Overview
The Alarm Technician provides alarm system installation which requires low voltage wiring, performing testing and troubleshooting on the systems, and compliance with local codes.
Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and wire alarm system per local building and fire code
- Read, understand, and follow blueprints
- Conduct a proper test and inspection
- Troubleshoot and service a fire alarm system
- Communicate expectations with customers
- Examines systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.
- Demonstrates systems and explains the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Cleans up debris from the alarm service work area.
- Provides excellent customer service that aligns with the company's mission statement.
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of fire alarm experience and low voltage experience preferred but not required
- Valid Driver's License
- Safe driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to work 80% of the time in the field
Work Requirements:
- Ability to work with hand tools, meters, and other necessary industry-related equipment
- Ability to climb ladders and operate lifts
- Ability to lift weights up to 75 pounds
The Alert Alarm Benefit:
Compensation starts at $19 /hour (DOE)
