ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will include, but not limited to the following areas:
- Assisting with research, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records in an organized, timely and logical fashion.
- Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
- Learning to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze large data sets in Excel, track information, and support the company.
- Compiles, processes and sorts AP documents, such as shipping documentation, expenses, invoices, sales tax and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
- Prepares account statements, reports, and other records and reviews for accuracy.
- Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
- Analyze variances in cost and quantity
- Assists in implementing any new accounting procedures as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or modified.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient skills with computers.
- Familiar with macros and complex spreadsheet formulas, definitions, and applications.
- Competency with various software packages including, but not limited to, MS Office suite of programs specifically Excel.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a bonus.
