As a Senior Interior Designer/Interior Architect, you will…
- Possess a knowledge of all aspects of interior design and interior architecture, including programming, space planning, color and material research and sustainability, FF&E, lighting design.
- Lead programming efforts and analysis.
- Develop concepts into design solutions as well as have the graphic and verbal skills to communicate design and planning concepts to clients, colleagues, and consultants with a focus on creating inclusive and collaborative environments.
- Manage design process and supervise workflow of design staff.
- Cultivate, maintain, and foster relationships with clients and consultants with sensitivity to project fees, budgets, schedules.
- Advocate for an inclusive, supportive work culture through listening, learning and actions.
- Manage and mentor teams in the Denver office.
- Contribute to both Denver office specific, and where appropriate, firm-wide marketing and business development.
- Contribute to the design-centric and collaborative culture of the Denver office.
- Closely work with and establish connections with other firmwide interior design leadership and initiatives.
- A bachelor or higher degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Interior Architecture and a minimum of 15 years of experience in the field. NCIDQ or AIA preferred.
- Experience managing complex clients with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated competency in programming and space planning.
- Strong skills in design technology tools, including ability to work in Revit.
- Experience in large and small-scale complex, multi-phase projects in healthcare, mixed-use, civic, government, institutional research facilities, aviation, sports and/or higher education. For example.
- Strong verbal and graphic communication skills, including team communication, design presentation, and storytelling.
- Highly motivated, proactive and passionate.
- Well-rounded, detailed oriented, strategic-thinker with an integrated approach to design, management and technical project resolution.
- Experience in a variety of building types, building materials, technical design, and construction techniques.
- Significant knowledge, expertise and initiative to explore and carry out new or complex assignments requiring the development of innovative techniques and procedures.
- Ability to navigate complex situations requiring diplomacy, interpersonal skills and judgement.
- Ability to perceive the goals of others, help to set priorities on projects and initiatives, and positively motivate individuals within the context of projects and the firm.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships outside the project team and the firm to facilitate project acquisition, facilitate innovation and then validation of project direction.
- Ability to communicate knowledge and experience throughout the office.
- Experience working in alternative forms of project delivery is a plus.
- Contribute to general office-wide initiatives and marketing efforts.
- LEED and/or WELL accreditation is a plus.
