Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in Selenium-based automation frameworks and expertise in transitioning to Playwright (Python). The ideal candidate will have experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks using Cucumber, Selenium, Java, Maven, and Jenkins, along with a deep understanding of database testing with DB2. This role will involve migrating existing automation frameworks to Playwright (Python) while enhancing automation coverage and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze and understand the existing test automation framework built using Cucumber, Selenium (Java), Maven, and Jenkins.
* Develop and execute a migration strategy to transition from Selenium (Java) to Playwright (Python) for UI and API-based automation.
* Build and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Playwright (Python).
* Automate test cases for web applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for functional, regression, and performance testing.
* Implement best practices for test automation, including parallel execution, reporting, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
* Integrate automated tests into Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
* Write and maintain Cucumber feature files and step definitions to support BDD-style test cases.
* Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to refine test scenarios and improve test coverage.
* Troubleshoot and debug automation failures, providing timely fixes and improvements.
* Perform database validation using DB2 queries and ensure data integrity during automated tests.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Playwright and automation best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
* 5 years of experience in software test automation with a focus on Selenium (Java).
* Strong experience in building and maintaining Cucumber-based automation frameworks.
* Expertise in Java, Maven, and Jenkins for test automation and CI/CD integration.
* Solid understanding of Playwright (Python) for building UI and API automation.
* Experience with writing and maintaining test scripts using Python.
* Hands-on experience with database testing using DB2 and writing complex SQL queries.
* Proficiency in working with REST APIs and automating API tests using Playwright.
* Strong understanding of Git and version control practices.
* Experience in debugging automation failures and optimizing execution times.
* Knowledge of browser context, session handling, and modern web testing practices.
* Familiarity with parallel test execution and distributed test runs using Playwright.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in setting up test data using synthetic data generation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
