Cloud Database Engineer
Duration: 6 months. Opportunity to convert to full time employee.
Location: Onsite (Hybrid) in McLean, VA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Years of experience: 7
Must Have Qualifications: 10 years of experience dealing with diverse databases (RDBMS, Cloud, NoSQL etc.), Postgres Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, database administration (provisioning, migration, maintenance, masking), database engineering, AWS Lambda, CFT, Terraform, Automation, Python, Ansible and PowerShell.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Database management: Design, implement, and maintain Cloud based DBs like AWS Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, Document DB, Neptune, Dynamo DB, Elastic Cache using AWS services.
- Cloud Automation: Develop automation, workflows for provisioning, configuration, backups, patching, and scaling using tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Python etc.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use IaC tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Rafay) to manage infrastructure as Code.
- Database Performance Tuning: Expertise and depth in one or more DB technologies specifically on performance tuning aspects of Database and SQL queries.
- Strong Database Architecture and Engineering skills.
Additional Cloud Skills (Preferred):
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization of services via OAuth.
- Experience in understanding & implementation Cloud Database Security - IAM & Managed AD.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Database Engineering and Architecture including supporting production environments.
- 7 years of related industry experience in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrable experience with:
- Postgres Aurora, MongoDB and emerging database technologies like Graph DB, Vector DB
- AWS Cloud Engineering/operations
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git and Artifactory
- Scripting languages (e.g., Groovy / Perl / Python / Ruby)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, driven, and creative individual.
