Main Purpose of the Role:
Manages all aspects of Logistics & Equipment Control to provide optimum service on the delivery of containers for every booking and effectively balanced equipment throughout depots /terminals while maintaining cost at a minimum for the NATL District. In depth knowledge of terminal operations to reduce costs with gate control. Drives excellence with team to ensure everyone knows their responsibilities and the bottom-line effect on the company. Oversees Maintenance & Repair to ensure depots/terminals are following Zim KPIs. Regulate operations, analytics, and support for cold treatment seasons, monitor all cold treatment processes for the whole east coast from all countries. Support trade, sales, customer service, per-dem, finance teams with relevant information needed for maintaining fluid business.
Main Tasks:
Establish a dedicated team of associates to manage damage estimates, pretrips, TLS, oversea cold treatment, deliver equipment on time, timely responses, and the daily requirements are met for the department. Managing depots, terminals, pools, and rail facilities to ensure the best processes are in place.
Responsible for ensuring that all subordinates are in accordance with all of ZIM’s stated Logistics and Equipment MNR and CT company policies and procedures
Managing one-way units and off hires to meet weekly KPI’s, idle dwell equipment, and best processes in place to reduce storage cost.
Problems solving is a daily requirement to ensure customer satisfaction and knowledge to direct staff; accordingly, ability to relate to customers and internal employees at all levels. Resolve cross functional issues and suggest changes for improvements if applicable.
Ensure staffing and coverage for all tasks that are handled daily by the NATL Team

Requirements:
- Academic education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management and/or 5 years of related industry experience. Master’s degree, Business a plus.
- Experience: 5 experiences in various industry management positions.
- Experience in customer service and logistics (equipment control, intermodal, cold treatment management and M&R) preferred.
- Experience with USDA / APHIS rules and regulations
