Main purpose of the role: This position holds the responsibility of vessel optimization and analyzing internal and market data with a view to enhance the decision making process within the trade.
Major areas of responsibility: Monitoring vessel utilization and customer performance.
Main Tasks
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university;
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years’ experience in trade positions or equivalent is highly preferred.
Transportation experience with steamship tariffs and service contracts as well as a familiarity with the US Latin American trade is a plus.
Knowledge of Statistics and Analytics, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MSDOS software (a plus).

Main Tasks
- Daily Monitor allocations and “model vessel’ on NOR /market basis in coordination with the respective TM for ITP and S. America.
- Optimize vessel performance based on cargo mix, equipment needs and specific trade requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments (Cargo Flow, EQC, VCL, CS, Haz, Planning, etc) to ensure full vessel utilization.
- Keep close contact with Sales to monitor customer performance and return ratio (weekly).
- Daily update of marketing reports (allocation, forecasting, VIP/Top customer report, Ad hoc report etc) to analyze the profitability of the customers and utilization of the vessels
- Responsible for forecasting utilization by service and vessel
- Update HIVE parameters as needed
- Late Gates and space approval
- Pricing OOG cargo
- Create quarterly rate matrix for minor OOG
- Update DTLI for service contract filing.
- Analyze service contracts for extension including validity, MQC, terms & condition and bullet rates.
- Review, researching and responding to emails and formal correspondence from the business unit, account owners and customers;
- Liaison with other areas, branches.
