Main Purpose of the Role :
Primary Director of the Insurance and Claims Team. Provides legal advice and support for ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd.'s subsidiary companies in the Americas, Canada, and the Caribbean Area.
Major areas of responsibility :
Provides advice and support on all legal matters affecting ZIM Integrated companies, including maritime law, corporate governance, contracts, regulatory compliance, claims and litigation matters.
Main Tasks :
- Provide legal advice and support on U.S. law and regulation to ZIM Integrated and ZIM entities within the Area.
- Assist General Counsel and Vice President with compliance functions, including training, enforcement, and internal investigations.
- Conduct research and draft legal memoranda.
- Directly responsible for the insurance team which includes claims analysts and unclaimed Cargo analyst.
- Review and adjust complex cargo, property, and personal injury claims within Area.
- Provide in-house support for outside counsel in litigation of claims.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with external parties, coordinating with Headquarters, ZAISCO and outside parties.
