What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at ZIM?
Main Purpose of the Role:
The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for generating internal reports on vessel operations in port, supporting operational analysis and financial reporting.
Assisting with all operational activities related to vessels and marine terminals. Responsible for creating vessel scheduling reports to support operational decision-making, including key details such as highlights, earliest receivable dates, cargo cut-off dates at ports, destination changes, and other administrative tasks.
Generating reports for all ZIM-operated and partner vessels serving designated ports in the USA.
Major Areas of Responsibility: ADR and VDR reporting. Vessel Schedule Coordination and Updates.
Main Tasks:
- Prepare Actual Departure Repository (ADR) reports for vessels carrying ZIM cargo within the required timeframe.
- Manage vessel arrivals and departures using the company system, AgenTeam.
- Create and maintain the vessel schedule, resolving any discrepancies.
- Coordinate Earliest Receivable Dates (ERD) and vessel cutoffs with ports, partners, and customer service.
- Process Change of Destination (COD) requests in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with local branch operations managers to gather information and complete reports as needed.
- Identify and address reporting discrepancies to ensure accuracy in operational performance and billing.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute internal reports to support company revenue goals and vessel/port objectives.
- Assist in developing operational strategies aligned with industry trends and changes.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and system enhancements.
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements:
•Academic education: High School.
•Previous experience in the shipping industry preferred.
•Experience with MS and Windows Programs.
