Job Summary:
The program controls specialist will be part of the Program Management Office (PMO) and perform project controls functions for planning, monitoring, and reporting on schedules and budget. This role works with cross functional business units as a key member of the program team to ensure that programs are being managed using program management best practices. In addition to program responsibilities the program controls specialist will work across the portfolio tracking and reporting as necessary to ensure all value streams are performing to deliver a successful program.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Supports process improvement projects focused on improving program and portfolio monitoring and control.
2. Evaluate current processes and improve efficiency of program planning and scheduling to assist program teams in delivering successful programs.
3. Supports daily visual management process and updates key performance indicators as required.
4. Supports all aspects of the Microsoft Project and portfolio management system under the guidance of the Director of Program Management.
5. Compile and analyze and wide range of program and portfolio metrics.
6. Reports on critical path schedule, manage budget, track earned value metrics and make program recommendations to managers.
7. Support Engineering with KPI tracking and specifically defined reporting needs.
8. Responsible for external communication to OEMs including waterfalls, updates to pertinent documentation, and various aspects of contract management.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum
1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and three-to-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience with project scheduling software
3. Exposure to project management and related processes
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
5. Ability to define problems, collects data, draw valid conclusions and drive solutions.
6. Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
1. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
2. Aerospace experience preferred.
3. Understanding of advanced project management principles such as cost control, change management, risk management and earned value.
Physical Requirements:
· Normal office environment where approximately 80% of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office area, Stores area and Hanger area.
· Filing duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc.
· Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
· Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
· Must be able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
