What does the job entail?
As an HR Generalist, you'll gain hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle, supporting our growing team while ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. Your responsibilities will include:
- HR Compliance & Policies: Have a good understanding compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including and break compliance), maintain employee records, and support audits.
- Employee Onboarding: Manage onboarding new hires, ensuring a seamless experience, and supporting initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Partner with both HR and Finance team to support payroll processing. Collaborate with team on benefits administration and enrollment, answer employee questions.
- Performance Management: Support HR team in managing the performance processes and employee development initiatives.
- HR Systems & Data Management: Maintain HR systems and support HR reporting and analytics.
- Employee Relations: Act as a resource for frontline employees, assessing concerns and informing leadership to ensure a supportive work environment.
- Recruiting & Talent Support: Assist in recruiting process, including scheduling interviews and maintaining job postings.
- Special Projects & Process Improvements: Contribute to HR initiatives such as engagement, wellness programs, and company events.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of HR experience
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws and meal/rest break compliance (or willingness to learn).
- Eagerness to learn all aspects of HR in a startup environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handles sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, or ATS systems is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
