Contract: Long Term
- Direct activities of the Traffic Division to ensure a safe and efficient transportation system across the county
- Plan, design, implement, and operate traffic control devices
- Conduct and review traffic studies and development proposals from a county-wide perspective
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and engineers on traffic impact assessments affecting county infrastructure
- Coordinate with local and state transportation agencies, including MPO, FDOT, Brightline, and transit services
- Supervise staff, manage departmental budgets, and provide expert traffic engineering guidance on county projects
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering
- Valid Class E Florida Driver’s License
- Florida or reciprocal Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal traffic regulations
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to assess complex traffic issues and present concise engineering solutions
