- Salary: $100,000 - $120,000, Based on Experience
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Location: Fairfield, NJ
- Customer Liaison: Represent the customer to ensure that all project expectations are met and aligned throughout the product lifecycle.
- Leadership: Provide direction to technical teams, ensuring the successful and timely launch of multiple complex plastic-based programs.
- Program Management: Oversee program management activities for plastic components, including tooling for injection molding, progressive metal stamping, insert molding, and factory-assembled automation processes.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Flowcharts, Control Plans, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R’s.
- Collaboration with Medical Customers: Work closely with medical customers during product design (R&D) meetings, ensuring seamless integration of plastic manufacturing technologies into designs.
- Project Scheduling & Monitoring: Develop and distribute project schedules, ensuring project milestones are met and progress is closely monitored.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead and facilitate key meetings, such as Tooling Kickoffs, Specification Reviews, Design Reviews, and Lessons Learned sessions.
- Engineering Coordination: Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, routing development, and coordination of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Lead engineering studies to optimize plastic parts and processes, debug issues in existing processes, and address quality rejections.
- Supplier Management: Interface with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Process Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain process documentation for plastic product manufacturing, train personnel, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Education: A 4-year degree in Engineering, Technical, or Management discipline (graduate degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, technical project management, or product design in the plastic medical device or life sciences industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents, with a strong understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and GD&T. Experience with SolidWorks for plastic product/tooling design is preferred.
- Quality & Process Knowledge: Knowledge of quality inspection tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, and familiarity with GMP/ISO Quality Systems.
- Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of TQM, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles, with a solid background in plastic injection molding, progressive metal stamping, and insert molding processes.
