The VP of Accounting & Finance is responsible for leading and managing the financial accounting functions of the organization. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The VP of Accounting & Finance plays a pivotal role in the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization. This position requires a detail-oriented and strategic thinker who can effectively lead a team while ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial operations. Additionally, staying updated with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices is crucial in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the accounting and finance departments, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational growth and sustainability.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive financial decision-making and performance optimization.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and risk management practices to ensure financial stability and long-term success.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including billing and reimbursement policies, for both public and private payers.
- Lead audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Provide financial oversight for grants and funding related to substance abuse treatment programs.
- Develop and mentor the accounting and finance team to foster professional growth and ensure department effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the healthcare or substance abuse treatment sector.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
