In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a bonus, providing the opportunity to earn additional compensation.

Position Summary
The Project Portfolio Manager is a key contributor to Zinpro’s success by managing projects and programs within the Quality System as well as coordinating activities around the office and laboratory. Work will center around leading a variety of quality projects including but not limited to capital projects at the Lab as well as managing Quality System documents and maintaining Quality records. Success in this position requires the ability to lead projects from ideation through completion; this includes designating project resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and ensuring key stakeholders are informed. Knowledge of quality systems and operations processes, and strong planning and organizational skills are essential. This role is based at the Eden Prairie Laboratory.
Essential Functions
- Leads and maintains annual and long-range capital projects and spending plans
- Analyzes and prioritizes improvement ideas for implementation of lab projects and builds business cases for project approvals
- Manages, prioritizes, and fully executes projects and initiatives, including providing estimates, schedules, and project updates to stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Responsible for Quality System document control including facilitating the development, revision, distribution and maintenance of Quality System policies, procedures, work instructions and forms
- Oversees overall inventory management of the lab; including preparation of purchase orders for laboratory consumables and office supplies
- Responsible for non-production sample management, including initial testing requests, sample intake, and sample tracking
- Manages completion and maintains internal quality and safety audit requirements and assists in the completion and filing of environmental regulatory, OSHA, and corporate reports
- Manages Heads-Up forms and Corrective Action Requests
- Manages laboratory appointment calendar, including standing laboratory and safety related meetings and oversees the coordination of lab tours and functions
- Coordinates on-site visits from vendors or facility maintenance contractors
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ project management and related experience
- Strong team management skills with ability to resolve conflict, delegate tasks, set goals, and evaluate performance
- Strong familiarity with project management software, methodologies, and best practices
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a plant manufacturing environment
- Excellent critical thinking skills with proven ability to weigh pros and cons to make good decision.
Preferred:
- Food safety certification (PCQI)
- Minimum 3 years’ human and animal food safety management experience
- Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma Certification
- 5 plus years’ project management and related experience
- 5 plus years’ human and animal food safety management experience
- Proficient use of multiple project software tools
Schedule Requirements
This position is expected to work within core business hours.
Travel Requirements
This position will work primarily at the Eden Prairie lab facility. Limited company-sponsored travel may be needed, less than 10% of time.
