Position Summary
The Transportation Coordinator oversees the daily management of freight and carrier operations within the supply chain. This role ensures transportation planning balances service and cost, while fostering strong relationships with freight forwarders, 3PL partners, customers, and the Zinpro supply chain. Utilizing data, this position develops logistics solutions to enhance Zinpro's efficiency and effectiveness in achieving company goals.
Essential Functions:
- Arrange domestic and international transportation for inbound and outbound shipments, inventory transfers, and customer orders by balancing cost, service, and transit time.
- Schedule, manage, and track the day-to-day operations of Zinpro’s domestic and international shipments.
- Work closely with Zinpro’s dedicated fleet, 3rd party logistics partners, and freight forwarders to achieve > 95% on-time pick-up and delivery by mode.
- Manage inbound and outbound LTL, TL, dedicated, ocean, air, and expedite shipments.
- Oversee tracking of shipments; report out, inform, escalate, and intervene when needed.
- Provide rate quotes.
- Reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Detail orientated with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum of three years of transportation management experience.
- DOT and Hazmat experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills for reporting and data management.
- Tableau and Microsoft Power-Bi experience.
- Domestic and Export experience.
Schedule Requirements:
The Transportation Coordinator is expected to work within core business hours and participate in after-hours calls, as well as calls with overseas business teams as needed. This position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence 3 days per week.
Travel Requirements:
This position will primarily work at Zinpro Corporate Headquarters and is expected to engage in company-sponsored travel approximately 5-10% of the time, mainly visiting Zinpro manufacturing facilities.
