Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead is a key contributor to Zinpro’s success by leading and executing the daily activities within the warehouse required to meet all expectations of safety, environmental, quality and production for the manufacturing plant. Work will center around managing warehouse space, loading and unloading trucks, preparing products for shipment, and executing assigned work. Success in this position requires the ability to problem solve, strong communication skills and ability to anticipate needs within a warehouse environment. This position is expected to perform physically demanding work while ensuring the safety of self and others. This role is based in Garner, IA.
Essential Functions
- Ensure the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance)
- Unloading, and loading trucks; partnership with drivers ensuring quality experience when on-site
- Managing raw materials on the floor
- Preparing items for next day jobs, review orders and materials needed for successful production run
- Manage warehouse floor (wrapping pallets, monitoring goods and volumes of items needed, ensuring each pallet has been labeled and ready for shipment)
- Execute the use of Smartsheet, or other tools to ensure efficiency within the warehouse
- Cycle count raw materials and finished goods
- Completes standard work, including but not limited to audits and ensures corrective actions are complete
- Participate in projects, & other continuous improvement actions within warehouse including but not limited to the learning and application of 5s practices
- Demonstrate leadership in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving
- Lead and effectively communicate with others; participate in daily stand-up meetings
- Follows all safety procedures according to standards, and is proactive
- Coordinates movement of team members within the warehouse according to business needs; through the development and maintaining of the cross-training matrix in partnership with the Operations Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production environment or warehouse operation
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Basic computer skills (PC) and basic working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Schedule Requirements
This position is expected to work within core business hours and requires participation in after-hours meetings with plant personnel on other shifts as needed.
Travel Requirements
This position will work primarily at their home manufacturing plant facility.
