What are the responsibilities and job description for the Altitude Physiology Faculty Fellowship position at Zintellect?
The Military Performance Division at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine is seeking a faculty applicant from an accredited university who has received a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology or a related field.
What will I be doing, and why should I apply?
Under the guidance of a mentor, your expertise in altitude physiology, illness, and injury will be used to further the mission and capabilities of the Military Performance Division at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine. Your knowledge of mediation research to reduce acute mountain sickness will be used to collect data and strengthen the division's environmental physiology program. You will participate in research focusing on transitioning practical molecular products and solutions to soldiers. You will also learn to develop acquisition and product development skills in molecular physiology. This experience will also teach you sensor development in testing the reliability and validity of sensors that can be transitioned to the Soldier for real-time monitoring while expanding your knowledge of genomic research to include computational analyses from mRNA and microRNA data.

What is the anticipated start date?
USARIEM is ready to make appointments as soon as possible. Exact start dates will be determined at the time of selection and in coordination with the selected candidate. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and fellowships will be filled as qualified candidates are identified.
What is the appointment length?
Appointments are initially for one year, with the option to extend the appointment for up to four additional years, contingent upon project needs and funding availability.

You will receive a stipend to be determined by USARIEM. Stipends are typically based on a participant's academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location. Other benefits may include the following:

About ORISE
