What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition/Biology Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Zintellect?
U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), located in Natick, Massachusetts is offering a postdoctoral fellowship. USARIEM is an internationally recognized center of excellence for Warfighter health and performance science and its applications. The Institute functions as a world-class laboratory for environmental medicine, physiology, and nutrition research.
What will I be doing?
This ORISE appointment will support research exploring modafinil's effects in a cold environment. It will also support cross-validation of predictive models of resilience and performance. The research will cross-validate physiological, nutritional, and psychological factors identified from predictive models of resilience and performance from studies of US Army Special Forces (SF) training and to cross-validate the identified factors in different military populations and training environments, including Army One Unit Basic Training. The chosen post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to gain experience and training in study development and design, collection, and analysis of psychological, biological, and physiological data in extreme environments, data cleaning, and statistical analyses. In addition, the post-doctoral fellow will have a chance to explore opportunities for self-initiated project development, attend and present scientific findings at local and national meetings, and co-author manuscripts and technical reports.

What is the anticipated start date?

What is the appointment length?
This appointment is a one-year research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.
What are the benefits?
You will receive a stipend to be determined by USARIEM. Stipends are typically based on a participant’s academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location. Other benefits may include the following:
