· Fill in for a teacher, when a teacher is off or needs to leave early.
· Follow the job description of the assistant teacher or closer (see job description below).
· Fill in as needed for lunch breaks or restroom breaks for other staff.
Teacher assistant job description
· Help/assist the teacher with daily tasks (bible time, circle time, etc.).
· Step in to substitute for a teacher when not available.
· Clean and sanitize for the next day (empty trash can, vacuum, mop, clean tables, chairs, etc.).
· Redirect a child when the child is being disruptive and comfort them when needed.
· Change diapers and help with potty training or bathroom time.
· Provide safe outdoor/indoor play.
· Greet parents at arrival and dismissal.
· Relay any necessary information to parents and teachers.
· Maintain safe ratios for classrooms (1-year olds=1:5, 2-year-olds=1:8, 3-year-olds=1:10, 4-
year-olds 1:10, 5-9 years old=1:20, 9-12 years old=1:25.
· Provide daily health checks.
· Help in any capacity needed as instructed by a lead teacher.
· When in ratio in your assigned classroom, help as needed and instruct in other classrooms to meet ratio requirements and provide restroom breaks and lunch breaks as needed for other staff members.

Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting
- Strong background in early childhood education and toddler care
- Knowledge of classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred
- Ability to create engaging learning environments for infants and toddlers
