- Supervises students before and after school, in cafeteria, in hallways, and other designated school areas as assigned.
- Establishes a positive collaborative working relationship with school administrators, staff, and students.
- Carries out activities within the school aimed at improving school climate and addressing barriers to learning.
- Consults with the school’s support personnel such as the social workers, psychologists, behavior specialists etc. to assess the needs of students and to ensure that students who are at-risk and/or experiencing issues are receiving appropriate school-based services.
- Ensures inclusive opportunities for students to be engaged in the school climate improvement process.
- Works with other building staff engaged in school climate strategies to document successes and challenges as well as to identify best practices.
- Provides feedback to leadership team regarding the progress of culture and climate goals set forth by the building leadership team.
- Reports any discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, safety violations and concerns, and acts of vandalism to the Principal.
- Monitors students’ behavior in the hallways and promotes positive student responsibility for behavior and attitude by serving as a role model.
- Responds to emergency situations when needed and assists students during emergency evacuations.
- Maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, regulation or building/department or requested by the Principal or designee.
- Maintains confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising duties in accordance with the law and Board policies.
- Performs other student supervisory duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

General Responsibilities:
The responsibility of the Supervisory Aide is to help maintain effective operation of the school by implementing Restorative Practice and PBIS methods to encourage the appropriate engagement of students in all aspects of the school experience. The Supervisory Aide must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff, and be able to maintain positive school culture within the school setting. He/she shall make sure that environment is secure and safe.
Essential Duties:
The essential duties of a Supervisory Aide are to work directly with students to solve conflicts, discipline and behavior situations with a student-centered, restorative approach, including modeling. Additionally, the Supervisory Aide will watch for and report irregularities and safety issues such as fire hazards, security doors left unlocked and any unusual activity; regulate pedestrian traffic at the school's entrance and in halls to maintain an orderly flow; monitor the halls and surrounding school premises for truancy; check for students' hall passes and tardy slips; direct authorized visitors to their proper destination on campus and monitor and report unauthorized visitors to the building office; record data for the supervisory staff, such as student conflicts or unusual occurrences; report tardiness, truancies and other related incidents to the appropriate school administrator; and perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the school principal or designee.
