Preschool Teacher and Teacher Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated Full Time and Part Time Preschool Teachers and Teacher Aides to join our brand new Preschool team!

Zion Lutheran Preschool is a ministry of Zion Lutheran Church. Open to children of all spiritual backgrounds, this new start-up center will provide an appropriate Christian learning, school readiness experience for children between 2 years to 5 years of age.

Zion Lutheran Preschool is looking for a wide range of teachers including: 2-year-old Teacher with potty training experience, 3 to 5 year old Teacher, and Teacher Aides.

The ideal candidate is passionate about Early Childhood Education and looking for a unique program development opportunity, has classroom management experience, is organized, a self-starter, a solutions-oriented teacher with excellent communication skills, and possesses a proven record of maintaining effective relationships in and outside of the classroom.

DUTIES:

- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational goals

- Provide a safe and stimulating environment that supports children's social, emotional, and cognitive development

- Conduct assessments to monitor students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

- Collaborate with parents to ensure each child's individual needs are met

- Help serve and clean up snacks for the children

- Set up cots and monitor children during rest times

- Manage the classroom schedule

- Maintain attendance records daily

- Maintain lunch and snack records daily

- Follow positive discipline policies as outlined in the staff manual

- Supervise and interact with children to promote their learning and development

- Maintain a clean and organized classroom conducive to learning

- Participate in the potty training process, as needed

- Comply with all State Licensing Regulations

SELF-MANAGEMENT AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:

- See his/her role as a calling for ministry, understanding the mission of the center

- Understand that the first priority is to teach about the love of Jesus through positive role modeling, gentle and consistent temperament, and caring relationships

- Have stamina, both physical and emotional, to work with young children

- Display abilities in planning, coordinating and implementing lesson plans

- Demonstrate initiative and competence in working effectively without close supervision

- Is positive and enthusiastic about children

- Possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

- Attend staff meetings, seminars and workshops as required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Maintain Red Cross first aid and child and infant CPR certifications.- Minimum of 6 months experience in child development center

- High School Diploma or GED

- Minimum of 6-12 Child Development Units

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
