Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated live in Home Caregiver to provide essential support to an elderly individual woman. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our mother through personalized care and assistance. This role involves experience with assisting the client with daily living activities. This role is vital in ensuring our client maintains her independence and quality of life while receiving the care she needs.
The client is healthy and cognitive, for the most part but is frail and has difficulty seeing and hearing. We are looking for a responsible local individual who can live and stay in her home, with relief provided by alternative care givers, at given times during the daytime hours
Position Details:
- The caregiver will live in the home and be responsible for monitoring the client’s sleeping and being aware of evening meals and breakfast.
- Room and board and meals are included during your stay.
- Local applicants only – we are not seeking candidates who need to relocate.
- A background check and interview process are mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Develop and follow individualized care plans tailored to the client’s needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s well-being.
- Spot and assist with mobility to prevent falls; the client uses a walker and will require someone to walk behind her for safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with family members and healthcare professionals regarding the client’s progress and any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience in home health care, group homes, or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid techniques and emergency response procedures is beneficial.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Ability to cook nutritious meals that meet dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and patient attitude.
- A passion for helping others maintain their independence and quality of life.
