We are seeking a highly motivated Disaster Recovery Coordinator to design and implement comprehensive disaster recovery strategies that ensure the resilience of Zions Bancorporation’s IT infrastructure. The Disaster Recovery Team within Enterprise Business Resilience works to ensure the reliability and continuity of our IT operations by developing and maintaining robust disaster recovery plans, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing strategies to mitigate potential disruptions. This remit includes a range of functional responsibilities from program delivery and quality assurance to internal/external oversight engagement and program reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement complex disaster recovery strategies, lead risk assessments, and perform application impact analyses.
- Manage disaster recovery projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff or other teams on disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans outlining steps to be taken before, during, and after a disaster.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure and help implement measures to mitigate these risks.
- Coordinate IT application recovery efforts for disaster recovery tests (and if needed, for a disaster), ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Regularly conduct IT disaster recovery tests to ensure plans are effective and staff are familiar with procedures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT disaster recovery plans, procedures, and any changes made to them.
- Provide training to staff on IT disaster recovery procedures and raise awareness about the importance of disaster preparedness.
- Continuously review and improve disaster recovery plans based on lessons learned from tests and actual incidents.
- Ensure that disaster recovery plans comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes, integrating these insights into disaster recovery strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, supply chain management, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in a business, finance, or technology position, above entry level for those previous roles.
- Background in planning, business analysis, or project management preferred.
- Proven history of taking ownership and accountability for deliverables and deadlines, demonstrating initiative and a purposeful approach.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing initiatives appropriately to meet challenging deadlines.
- Advanced analysis and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
- Strong work ethic with the initiative and capacity to identify and solve complex problems.
- Advanced knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
- Demonstrated experience with at least 3 IT disciplines (support, administration, development, etc.) is a plus.
