The ideal candidate for a New Accounts Teller will have the skills and experience necessary to:
Expand client base through successful selling and coaching techniques including lending applications, cross-selling of bank services and products and assisting clients in every area of banking.
Resolve client concerns through direct personal action, or by referring clients to an alternative bank department resource.
Identify and address clients' needs by providing a variety of services which may include opening new accounts, issuing counter checks, performing account maintenance, issuing/activation ATM cards, performing money transfers, ordering checks, receiving loan payments, etc.
Ensure the branch provides quality service while protecting against loss.
Maintain advanced knowledge of branch operations.
May Supervise branch activities in the absence of, or in conjunction with branch management team.
Perform cash transactions and accurately process debit and credit transactions in compliance with established policies and procedures while maintaining an acceptable balancing record.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Banker Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 1 years’ experience in teller, new accounts, loan processing, consumer lending, sales or other directly related experience. Previous experience in a financial sales representative oriented role preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
Ability to sell, cross-sell and refer bank products based on clients’ needs.
Solid mathematical, problem-solving and negotiation skills to support standard banking products, services and transactions including balancing.
Solid knowledge of all retail products and services.
Proven customer service, relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with strong attention to detail and time management.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Basic knowledge of consumer lending applications a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
