RESPONSIBILITIES
Bussers are essential in providing a positive dining experience by assisting servers and ensuring our dining room is clean and always ready for service. They are responsible for efficiently resetting tables for service after each guest party leaves. The busser position ensures the dining room is always well-stocked with service items and smallware necessary to enhance the guest dining experience.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists wait staff in ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests
- Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
- Serve water, and refill beverages.
- Remove dirty tableware and replenish it as needed.
- Clean and reset tables after guests leave
- Transport soiled dishes to the dishwasher to be cleaned; wash if needed
- Ensure availability of clean dishes, flatware, glasses, straws, napkins and other dining materials.
- Maintains a safe and sanitary work and guest area through constant cleaning, organizing, and replenishing of necessary items.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Scheduling:
- Meets assigned shift requirements.
Physical Activity:
- Regularly push, pull, and carry objects.
- Stand and walk on foot for at least 6-8 hours.
- Reach at shoulder level and below waist constantly, above head occasionally.
- Bending downward or forward at the waist or knees occasionally.
- Talk and listen to communicate instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
Visual Requirements:
- Able to visualize the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass drug screening test
- Must Pass pre-employment background check
- Current Food handler's Certification Card issued by Southern Nevada Health District
Environmental Conditions:
- Works in an air-conditioned environment
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Necessary Skills:
- Basic math and writing.
- Able to interact with guests and co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Possesses problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending the English language.
